Many French regions continue to actively support sustainable mobility through specific aids for the purchase of electric or cargo bikes. These aids can take the form of direct subsidies, vouchers, or eco-vouchers, and are sometimes subject to income, residency conditions, or purchase from local sellers. Here is an overview region by region of the main measures in place.



Île-de-France

  • Amount: up to €400 for an EAB, €600 for an electric-assisted cargo bike.
  • Conditions: reserved for adult individuals residing in Île-de-France. The regional aid is reduced by the amount paid by the City of Paris.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

  • No regional aid, however, very advantageous aids are available depending on the city where you live. Search for your aids by city on our page here. Here is an example for Lyon: 
  • Amount (Lyon): up to €900 for an electric cargo bike depending on income conditions.
  • Conditions: reside in one of the 59 municipalities of the Lyon Metropolis, purchase from a locally established retailer. The beneficiary cannot be a legal entity. Aid valid only for purchases made offline.
  • Commercial conditions:
    • The total purchase price of the electric-assisted bike (EAB) must not exceed €3,200 including tax (no purchase amount required for electric cargo bikes).
    • The aid is granted for the purchase of new or used bicycles.

🔗 À Vélo Grand Lyon

Brittany

  • No regional aid, but several local authorities offer local assistance.
  • Lorient Agglomération: 30% of the purchase price, capped at €230 for a simple or folding e-bike and €300 for special or cargo bikes (aid available for people subscribed for at least 3 months to the community rental service IziLo Mobilités).
  • Bretagne Romantique: €100 aid, can be combined with up to €300 state aid (subject to income conditions).

Centre-Val de Loire

  • Amount: regional aid starting at €150 for a bike > €600.
  • Examples: €250 in Châlette-sur-Loing, up to €200 in Blois.

Corsica

  • Amount: 25% of the purchase price, capped at €500, directly deducted at checkout if the bike is bought from an authorized bike shop.
  • Conditions: live in Corsica, provide ID and proof of address, not have received the aid before, commit not to resell the bike within 3 years, make the purchase at a partner store of AUE.
  • Restrictions: does not apply to online purchases or electric mountain bikes.

Grand Est

  • Amount: €200 to €500 depending on the type of bike (e-bike, cargo, electrification of a classic bike).
  • Conditions: be of legal age, reside in Grand Est, purchase from a professional based in the region.
  • ⚠️ Applications must be completed before October 31, 2025, due to the program ending. Applications for cargo bikes, longtails, and conversion kits will no longer be accepted after this date (except adapted bikes for CMI holders).

    • Amount:
      • "Eco-mobility voucher" - Sustainable mobility package bonus: up to €400 for a non-taxable person and up to €250 for a taxable person. (Aid reserved for adult employees residing in Occitanie who already receive their employer’s Sustainable Mobility Package and have never benefited from a previous regional eco-mobility voucher.)
      • "Eco-mobility voucher" - Purchase of an electric-assist bike: €200
    • General conditions: aid is reserved for adults residing in Occitanie, subject to income conditions, and the bike must be a compliant electric-assist bike purchased from a local professional. For more information 👇

    • Amount: 50% of the VAT-inclusive price, capped at €200.
    • Conditions: reserved for Aléop subscribers.

    Normandy

    • Amount: varies by municipality, up to €300 in local aid.
    • Regional aid: the Normandy region does not offer subsidies at the regional level for the purchase of an electric-assist bike, but several urban areas and cities in the territory have their own aid programs.
    • Local examples:
      • City of Caen: up to €300 for the purchase of a new electric-assist bike and €400 for a cargo e-bike, subject to income, residence, and purchase from an approved local retailer. The Caen la mer package also offers a €50 aid.
      • Rouen Normandy Metropolis: up to €1000 for an electric-assist bike, subject to income conditions (tax reference income ceiling per share).
    • General conditions: aid is available based on the applicant’s main residence and the purchase must be made from a local professional. Some aid is subject to income limits.

    • General conditions: most of these aids are reserved for residents of the municipality or the urban community, and the purchase must be made from a locally established seller.
