Financial aid to encourage bike use is available for both residents and professionals operating in its territory. These supports vary depending on income and the type of bike targeted. Here is a summary of the offered schemes.
1. Subsidies for electric bikes in Nantes
Residents whose family quotient (QF) does not exceed 900 can apply for assistance proportional to their situation, which can reach up to 1 500 €.

b. Assistance for professionals
Companies, freelancers, or organizations operating in Nantes Métropole (e.g., delivery workers, craftsmen, health professionals) can also benefit from financial support.
Eligible bikes:
- Standard bikes
- Electric-assisted models
- Cargo bikes (with or without motor)
Amount of the aid:
- 30% of the VAT-inclusive price covered by the subsidy
- Up to €600 per bike
- Limited to 10 bikes per organization
c. Conditions to be met
For individuals
- Be an adult and reside in one of the Nantes Métropole municipalities
- Justify a QF ≤ 900 (CAF, MSA, or calculation based on the tax notice)
- The bike must have been purchased after January 1, 2023
- All documents must be consistent (name/address)
For professionals
- Be based in the metropolitan area
- Hold a valid SIRET number
- Do not exceed 10 applications
d. How to apply?
For individuals
- Check your eligibility on the Nantes Métropole website
- Buy an eligible bike or kit from a cycling professional
- Complete your online application with the necessary documents:
- Identity card
- Proof of residence less than 3 months old
- CAF/MSA certificate or tax notice
- Bank details (RIB)
- Named invoice less than one year old
- Certificate of conformity (for electric-assisted bikes or folding bikes)
For professionals
- Make the bike purchase
- Gather the required documents and submit the application online:
- Identity document of the representative
- SIRET or recent URSSAF certificate
- Purchase invoice in the name of the organization
- Approval certificate if applicable
- Company bank details (RIB)
2. Subsidies for electric bikes in Angers
Depending on the type of bike chosen, the amount of aid varies.

c. How to apply?
Two procedures are possible:
1. Apply online
- Create an account or log in on the A’tout portal
- Fill out the form and attach the requested supporting documents (invoice, ID, proof of residence…)
2. Submit a paper file
- Pick up a form at one of the following locations:
- Town hall relay
- City Hall or Agglomeration Hall
- Agence Vélocité (6 rue de la gare, Angers)
- Submit the complete file on site
The aid is paid after file validation and within the limits of available funds.
3. Subsidies for electric bikes in La Roche-sur-Yon

To be eligible for these aids, the following criteria must be met:
- Reside in the territory of La Roche-sur-Yon Agglomeration.
- Present an invoice dated within the last 6 months.
- Only one aid per household is granted every 5 years for the purchase of an electric bike.
No income conditions are required to benefit from these subsidies.
c. How to apply?
- Select your bike or kit from a partner bike shop (the list is available on the Agglomeration website).
- Make the purchase and keep the invoice, which must be dated within the last 6 months.
- Fill out the application form, available online or at the Maison du Vélo.
- Attach the required supporting documents:
- Purchase invoice and a copy of the French approval certificate.
- Proof of residence.
- Bank account details (RIB).
- Employee PDIE proof, if applicable.
- Submit your complete file to the local authority, either by email or by delivering it in person.
