Bordeaux Métropole is reaffirming its commitment to sustainable mobility by extending its program through 2027 providing financial assistance for the purchase of specialized bicycles. Supported by the French government as part of the “Villes Respirables en 5 ans” program, this initiative aims to make electric, cargo, folding, and adapted bicycles more accessible to metropolitan residents and workers.

1. Amount of assistance based on taxable reference income per household share

Eligible bicycle types include:

  • Electric-assist bicycle
  • Folding bicycle
  • Cargo bike
  • Recumbent bicycle
  • Adult tricycle
  • Bicycle adapted for people with disabilities
  • Electrification device

The bicycle must be new or used and purchased from a professional retailer.

2. Conditions to meet

  • Be an individual.
  • Live or work in one of the municipalities of Bordeaux Métropole.
  • Purchase an eligible bicycle or device from a professional retailer.
  • Provide a certificate of approval or conformity for the bicycle.
  • Submit your application within one year of the purchase date.

3. How to apply?

  2. Attach the supporting documents:
    • Purchase invoice.
    • Proof of identity.
    • Proof of address.
    • Tax assessment notice.
