Strasbourg: what aids are available for purchasing an electric bike?

Strasbourg is strengthening its commitment to sustainable mobility by offering financial aid for the acquisition of electric-assisted bikes (EAB), electric cargo bikes, or for motorizing classic bikes. These subsidies, adjusted according to the beneficiaries' income, aim to encourage the adoption of more ecological modes of transport.

1. Available aids in Strasbourg

2. Conditions to meet

To be eligible for aid, you must:

  • Be over 18 years old.
  • Reside in one of the municipalities of the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg (main residence).
  • Make the purchase from an authorized dealer bearing the “Véloptimiste Partner” label.
  • Submit the application within 3 months following the invoice date.
  • Not have benefited from this aid in the last 5 years.
  • Commit not to resell the subsidized bike within 3 years following the purchase.

3. How to apply?

The aid application is made after the purchase of the bike or equipment.

  1. Buy a bike or kit from a “Véloptimiste Partner” distributor located in the metropolis.
  2. Gather the required documents (invoice, ID, proof of residence, tax notice, etc.)
  3. Submit your application via the metropolis website within a maximum of 3 months after invoicing.
  4. Once your file is approved, the subsidy will be paid to you by bank transfer.

Note: When ordering your bike on our site, you will receive the invoice, the homologation certificate, and the registration proof.
