Strasbourg: what aid is available for buying an electric bike?

Strasbourg strengthens its commitment to sustainable mobility by offering financial aid for the purchase of electric-assisted bikes (EAB), electric cargo bikes, or for motorizing classic bikes. These subsidies, adjusted according to beneficiaries’ income, aim to encourage the adoption of more eco-friendly transportation modes.

1. Available aid in Strasbourg

2. Conditions to meet

To be eligible for aid, you must:

  • Be over 18 years old.
  • Reside in one of the municipalities of the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg (primary residence).
  • Make the purchase from an authorized dealer bearing the “Véloptimiste Partner” label.
  • Submit the application within 3 months following the invoice date.
  • Not have received this aid in the last 5 years.
  • Commit to not resell the subsidized bike within 3 years following the purchase.

3. How to apply?

The aid application is made after purchasing the bike or equipment.

  1. Buy a bike or a kit from a “Véloptimiste Partner” dealer located in the metropolitan area.
  2. Gather the required documents (invoice, ID, proof of address, tax notice, etc.)
  3. Submit your application via the metropolitan website within a maximum of 3 months after invoicing.
  4. Once your application is approved, the subsidy will be paid to you by bank transfer.

Please note: When ordering your bike on our website, you will receive the invoice, the approval certificate, and the registration proof.
