The Lyon metropolitan area continues to promote sustainable mobility by offering grants for the purchase of new or used bikes. These grants, available to individuals subject to income conditions, vary according to the type of bike purchased.
1. Grants offered by the Lyon metropolitan area
The subsidy amounts depend on the applicant’s reference tax income per share and the type of bike purchased. Here is an overview of the maximum available grants:

2. Eligibility requirements
- Live in one of the municipalities of the Lyon metropolitan area.
- Must not have received a bicycle grant from the metropolitan area in the last 4 years.
- Provide proof of a reference tax income per share of €26,200 or less (according to the 2023 tax notice).
- Have purchased an eligible bike or equipment between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
- Have made the purchase from a retailer located within the metropolitan area (except for adapted bikes for people with reduced mobility, which can be purchased anywhere in France or online).
- Ensure that the bike complies with the NF EN 15194 standard (for e-bikes and kits).
3. How do I apply?
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via the Toodego platform.Documents to provide:
- Proof of identity (front and back).
- 2023 tax notice.
- Proof of address dated within the last 3 months.
- Bike purchase invoice (showing payment or the payment method).
- Certificate of conformity or technical data sheet (for e-bikes or kits).
- Bank details in the applicant’s name.
