Who can benefit from the bike bonus?
- individuals of legal age, residing in France, with a taxable reference income per share less than or equal to €14,089
- persons with disabilities holding proof of their status. This includes people who receive one or more of the following aids: adult disability allowance (AAH), disability compensation benefit (PCH), autonomous living supplement (MVA), education allowance for disabled children (AEEH), or hold a mobility inclusion card marked “disability,” or a disability card, or a military disability card.
Which bikes are eligible for this bonus?
The bike purchased must meet the following criteria:
- be new or used. Used bikes must be purchased from a professional seller to be eligible. They cannot be bought from a private individual
- not use a lead battery
- be an electric pedal-assist cycle as defined by article R.311-1 of the Highway Code (a cycle equipped with an auxiliary electric motor with a maximum continuous nominal power of 0.25 kilowatts, whose power supply is progressively reduced and finally cut off when the vehicle reaches a speed of 25 km/h, or earlier if the cyclist stops pedaling)
- or a traditional cycle (without electric assistance), provided your taxable reference income per share is less than or equal to €6,358 or if you are a person with a disability,
- or a folding, cargo, recumbent electric bike adapted for a disability,
- or a traditional folding, cargo, recumbent bike adapted for a disability,
- or an electric trailer,
- not be transferred by the buyer within one year following its purchase,
- have a unique identifier engraved on its frame. This marking is mandatory.
Please note
- An individual can only benefit from this aid once.
- The bike bonus can be combined with the conversion premium as well as with other local government aids, if applicable.
- Obtaining this aid is no longer conditional on prior receipt of local aid.
What is the amount of the bike bonus?
- €150 if the bike without pedal assist is purchased by an individual whose taxable reference income per share is less than or equal to €6,358 or by a person with a disability.
- €300 if the bike with pedal assist is purchased by an individual whose taxable reference income per share is less than or equal to €14,089.
- €400 if the bike with pedal assist is purchased by an individual whose taxable reference income per share is less than or equal to €6,358 or by a person with a disability.
- €2,000 for cycles adapted to carry people or goods behind or in front of the rider or to meet the needs of persons with disabilities, for folding cycles (with or without pedal assist) and for electric trailers for cycles, if the vehicle is purchased by an individual whose taxable reference income per share is less than or equal to €6,358 or by a person with a disability.
- €1,000 for cycles adapted to carry people or goods behind or in front of the rider or to meet the needs of persons with disabilities, for folding cycles (with or without pedal assist) and for electric trailers for cycles, if the vehicle is purchased by an individual whose taxable reference income per share is less than or equal to €14,089 or by a legal entity.
How to get the bike bonus?
The application must be made within six months following the purchase of the bike. It must be submitted online on the dedicated website.
