It is very important to remember that riding an electric skateboard is not without risks. The fun aspect of this mode of transportation necessarily involves safety considerations. This article aims to raise your awareness of the potential risks involved in riding an electric skateboard.

We wanted to create a powerful product that delivers exceptional sensations. That’s why the sport mode is so powerful. Whether in terms of acceleration or top speed, sport mode can be tricky for inexperienced riders. We recommend practicing in "Slow" mode, getting your bearings, testing your limits... The performance of sport mode will be more enjoyable once you have mastered the board.

It is possible to lose the connection between the remote control and the board while riding, due to radio interference, dropping the remote, or a technical issue with the skateboard. This loss of connection causes the board to switch to freewheel mode and results in a lack of control over the board, such as the throttle or brake. We recommend users sharpen their freewheel riding skills to compensate for the lack of assistance in case of connection loss. It can be useful to know how to brake even when the motor is off.

In a previous article we discussed the legislation around electric skateboards. As we saw, the status of this mode of transportation is quite unclear, so you can ride near various vehicles: bicycles, cars, electric vehicles... We want to remind you that all these vehicles can be dangerous for us riders. We invite all Elwing Users to ride carefully and respect other users.

Elwing boards, a fun and efficient mode of transportation, are not without risks. Speed, steep slopes, or other users can be dangerous for electric skateboarders. So, we conclude this article with the most important advice: Wear a helmet during your rides and daily trips!
