Buying an electric cargo bike online does not necessarily mean giving up effective after-sales service or maintenance near you. But before ordering, four points deserve particular attention: where to have the bike repaired, how support is handled in the event of a breakdown, which parts can be replaced, and what the warranty actually covers.
At Ritmic, we have built our after-sales service around these four concerns. Our bikes are sold online, but we rely on more than 160 repair partners in France, offer remote after-sales diagnostics and sell numerous spare parts for our electric bikes separately, including batteries.
Warranty coverage and accidental damage should also be distinguished. New Ritmic bikes come with a two-year commercial warranty on the frame and fitted components against manufacturing defects. For accidental damage or theft, we offer Ritmic Care separately, according to the terms of the contract.
The aim of this article is therefore simple: to explain concretely what happens after purchasing a Ritmic bike, from the first service to battery replacement, including breakdowns, damage and warranty claims.

Warranty and damage: what does a Ritmic cargo bike really cover?
Ritmic distinguishes the warranty against manufacturing defects from accidental damage. Our new electric bikes come with a commercial warranty, while Ritmic Care is optional insurance intended in particular to cover accidental damage and theft according to the terms of the contract.
For a new Ritmic electric bike, our warranty terms provide for:
- the frame and all installed components guaranteed for two years against manufacturing defects;
- a minimum residual battery capacity of 70% after two years or 500 full charging cycles, whichever comes first;
- the finishes guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects.
This commercial warranty is in addition to the statutory warranties to which consumers are entitled.
Is a fall or accidental damage covered by the warranty?
A manufacturer's warranty should not be confused with insurance against accidental damage.
Our warranty terms notably exclude defects caused by a fall or by an event unrelated to a product defect.
To cover other risks, we offer Ritmic Care insurance separately, in partnership with Estaly. This insurance notably covers accidental damage and theft, subject to the deductibles, limits, and other conditions set out in the policy.
| Type of problem | Covered by | At Ritmic |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing defect (frame or installed component) | Manufacturer's warranty (included) | 2 years |
| Abnormal battery wear | Manufacturer's warranty (included) | Guaranteed capacity ≥ 70% after 2 years or 500 cycles |
| Accidental damage (fall, impact) | Dedicated insurance (optional) | Bike insurance offered by Ritmic |
| Theft | Dedicated insurance (optional) | Bike insurance offered by Ritmic |
In the event of a breakdown: how do after-sales service and repairs work at Ritmic?
Ritmic combines centralized after-sales service, remote diagnosis, and a network of more than 160 repair partners in France. This organization makes it possible to begin the diagnosis without necessarily transporting the bike immediately, then arrange the repair when a physical intervention is required.
In the event of a problem, the procedure generally begins by contacting our customer service to establish a remote diagnosis.
Photos, a description of the symptoms, and the circumstances of the failure may enable our team to identify the source of the problem before arranging the next steps in handling it.
This step is particularly useful for electrical and electronic issues. An error code, a battery, display, controller, or motor issue does not necessarily require the same intervention as a braking or drivetrain problem.
Our user manuals also include troubleshooting procedures and various error codes to help guide the diagnosis.
When an in-person service is required, the owner can then be directed to a professional in our network.
The Ritmic support process is therefore as follows:
after-sales service contact → remote diagnosis → problem identification → part or service if necessary → repair at a partner near you when possible.
Can a Ritmic bike purchased online be serviced near you?
Yes. Ritmic combines online sales with a physical network of 160+ repair partners in France. The goal is for a bicycle ordered online to be serviced or repaired locally by professionals who offer these services.
Our Ritmic near you page lets you search for available partners based on your location.
The purchasing channel ultimately matters less than the organization put in place after the sale.
Two bicycles can be ordered in the same way online but offer very different levels of repairability. Several factors make the difference: the presence of repairers, access to parts, the ability to replace the battery, component identification, and the support provided in the event of an electronic failure.
Spare parts and battery: how can you promote long-term repairability?
The long-term repairability of an electric cargo bike depends in particular on whether its battery can be replaced, whether a parts catalog exists, whether components are identified, and whether they are compatible. Ritmic bicycles have several of these characteristics.
We currently have a catalog dedicated to spare parts for electric bicycles, with more than 50 references.
It includes, in particular, parts related to:
- batteries and chargers;
- the braking system;
- the drivetrain;
- tires, wheels and inner tubes;
- forks;
- saddles and seats;
- kickstands;
- different equipment components;
- certain electronic components.
The fact that a part is offered today obviously does not guarantee its permanent availability. However, having a catalog accessible even before purchase makes it possible to check which parts can be ordered separately.
Can the battery of a Ritmic bicycle be replaced?
Yes. The batteries in our bikes are removable, and replacement batteries are sold separately.
This is particularly important for the service life of an electric bike: the battery is an expensive component whose performance naturally changes over time and with charging cycles.
The Yuvy Standard battery and the Yuvy Long-Range battery are currently compatible with:
- Yuvy 1 ;
- Yuvy 2 ;
- Yuvy 3.
The Ritmic Standard battery and the Ritmic Long-Range battery are compatible with:
- Solo ;
- Duo ;
- Jumbo.
This compatibility between several models or generations is an interesting indicator of repairability: the same battery reference can be used on several bikes in our range.
The 6 things to check before buying an electric cargo bike online
Buying online is not in itself an obstacle to maintaining an electric bike. However, it is useful to check the arrangements put in place by the manufacturer once the bike has been delivered.
1. Is there a repairer near me?
A map of professionals is more concrete than a simple promise of repairability. Ritmic relies on more than 160 repair partners in France, who can be found via our partner map.
2. What actually happens when the bike breaks down?
You need to check whether the manufacturer can assist with the diagnosis before arranging an intervention. At Ritmic, support generally begins with a remote diagnosis, or directly with one of our physical partners.
3. Can the battery be replaced?
A replaceable battery extends the use of the bike without having to replace the entire e-bike. We sell Yuvy batteries and batteries for the Solo, Duo and Jumbo separately so they can be replaced.
4. Is there really a parts catalog at Ritmic?
Yes, our spare parts catalog is directly accessible online.
5. Are the components used identified?
The Solo, Duo, and Jumbo models notably use a Bafang motor system and several mechanical components from specialist manufacturers such as Tektro, Shimano, KMC, and Schwalbe.
6. Are the warranty and accidental damage insurance clearly distinguished?
These are two different matters. Our warranty terms specify what is covered by the commercial warranty, while Ritmic Care is separate insurance against certain risks such as accidental damage and theft.
Buying a Ritmic cargo bike online: what happens after purchase?
In short, buying the bike is only the beginning of its life cycle. We have therefore organized various services to meet the main needs that may arise afterward.
| Need after purchase | Ritmic solution |
|---|---|
| Technical question or problem | After-sales service and remote diagnostics |
| Physical repair | +160 repair partners in France |
| Find a professional | Ritmic partner map |
| Replacing a part | Spare parts catalog |
| Replacing a battery | Batteries sold separately |
| Covered defect | Ritmic commercial warranty |
| Accidental damage or theft | Ritmic Care, if subscribed to and according to the contract |
| Periodic maintenance | Partner network and service reminder |
Ultimately, the issue is less whether a bike was bought “online” or “in a store” than what happens once the bike has been delivered: who responds if there is a problem, where to have it serviced, and how to replace a battery or part several years later.
For a bike intended to be used for a long time, the repair network, after-sales service procedure, access to parts, the possibility of replacing the battery, and the clarity of the warranty terms therefore deserve to be examined just as closely as range, the motor system, or load capacity.
