What is Corepile?
Corepile is an eco-organization for the collection and recycling of batteries, portable batteries, and mobility batteries. Approved by the State, Corepile has been supporting its members for 20 years, including distributors, producers, and importers of battery-powered products.
In 2018, Corepile developed a service for processing electric bike and mobility batteries. They observed that every year, more than 300,000 electric bikes are sold in France, along with nearly 650,000 other electric vehicles such as hoverboards, skateboards, or scooters. Moreover, these numbers have been steadily increasing in recent years. It is therefore important to have a proper outlet for these batteries.
Elwing’s Membership
Elwing is thus a member company of Corepile, which allows you to benefit from their collection points for the batteries of your electric vehicles. The sale price of our Powerkit electric skateboards includes €5 that is paid to Corepile for their collection and recycling service. For our Yuvy bikes, we pay €7.50. Once collected by Corepile, the batteries from our bikes are processed. The battery casing is then melted down and repurposed to manufacture everyday objects.
Also, no matter the region or town where you use one of our products, you can easily find a Corepile collection point to drop off your battery. However, be sure to distinguish between collection points for batteries and those specifically intended for electric bike batteries.
